(D. Rose enters the stage)
D. Rose: Let me begin by telling you a little story. One day a farmer´s donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do. Finally, he decided the animal was old and the well needed to be covered up, it just wasn´t worth it to get the donkey out. He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well. At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried louder. Then, to everyone´s amazement, he quieted down. A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well and was surprised at what he saw. With every shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing. He would shake it off and take a step up. As the farmer´s neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up. Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and trotted off. My life has been very similar to that of the donkey but instead of dirt I was hit with life. I grew up poor without a father, my sister was killed when i was around 9 or so, and at 13 my mother passed away. With each of shovel of dirt called "life" being thrown on top of me I continued to step up and never stopped dreaming. I had to grow up fast and figure out what it was I wanted out of life. not only did I figure out my dreams, I decided I wouldn't let anyone change my mind or take away my dream. I dreamed of some day being a singer so I could share my story with thousands of people, such as yourselves in hope of providing inspiration, empowerment, and drive. Today I get the opportunity to see apart of my dreams come true. As I look at you today, I remind myself, here is the reason for the Rose From Nothing Foundation, it is that you too can dream just as I did and see your dreams and aspirations come true as mine are. The trick to getting out of the well, is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of our troubles is a stepping stone. You can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off and take a step upward! Cause even the impossible ...is Possible.
Bio
This is not a game to him. He is a beast on the mic and passionate about every word he spits. His appearance is sharper than a razor blade , which by the way matches his skills. He is no stranger to pain and has no problem showing it. He reminds us that there is a difference between an MC and a rapper with tracks like “I’m a MC”. He gives you something to dance to with “What You Drinkin’ On?”, and allows us to feel his pain with “Dear Mama”. “Patiently Waiting” simply lets his fans know that he is waiting for the world to catch up with his flow. D.Rose even has a cut titled “ My Thoughts”. He does this joint acapella! It’s 48 seconds of him letting us see into his mind. He is about his business and he’s constantly in the studio so all you half time rappers better get ya game up. His time is....Now.
